Monorail

In the last quarter of 2007 Longwall Hydraulics announced that it would be moving into the Longwall Monorail market and appointed Mark O’Toole (Ex-Inbye Mining Services) to head up the new business.

This new part of the business has the following aims;

• To supply new monorail systems into the Australian market
• To provide services for the repair, maintenance and refurbishment of monorail systems
• To supply a range of monorail accessories including traction drive units, trolleys and rail.
• To provide project management services for monorail mini-builds and overhauls.

The move during 2007 into the longwall monorail market has been undertaken with the assistance of Agency agreements with the following companies;

• Swanson Industries – West Virginia
• Swanson supply and service monorails to most of the US underground coal market and they bring some innovative product improvements.
• Weinhold – Germany
• Weinhold is a German manufacturer of HP pipe which is increasingly being used in longwall installations in the US.
• Neuhauser – Germany
• Neuhauser already have a significant quantity of their heavy duty monorail sections in Australia.

Backed by these relationships Longwall Hydraulics can confidently offer the industry a range of options using proven technology and products.
